Component Descriptions
Trough
-
The trough is used to cradle and guide tubular products or casings to the drilling rig platform and back.
-
The trough has a variable height adjustment component. This allows final height adjustments for different sub heights or work floors.
-
The trough houses the skate and flippers responsible for transporting the tubular products or casings on the trough.
Trough Extension
-
The trough extension is used to handle longer tubular products or casings.
-
The extension installs on the end of the trough.
-
The trough houses the skate and flippers responsible for transporting the tubular products or casings on the trough.
Skate
-
The skate moves the tubular products or casings up and down the trough in a safe and controlled manner.
Skate Hood
-
The skate hood is adjustable to prevent the tubular product or casings from bucking out while latching elevators on the rig floor.
-
The skate hood can be manually adjusted for different diameters of tubular product or casings.
Outriggers
-
Each of the outriggers are equipped with a hydraulic cylinder which operates the leg (extending or retracting leg).
-
The outriggers are each equipped with a drop leg for greater adjustment.
-
Completely retract and secure the outriggers prior to and during transport.
Flippers
-
The flippers are flush mounted inside the trough and are used to remove tubular products from the trough. The flippers can direct tubular products to the driller or off-driller side of the Hawker Pipe Handler.
-
The flippers can only be operated with the trough completely lowered.
Index Arms
-
The index arms are used to lift and lower tubular products or casings from the product racks to the trough.
Pick-Up Arms
-
Pick-up arms are fitted into the index arms and can be manually adjusted to various lengths to lay down or pick up tubular products or casings.
-
When moving tubular products or casings to the rig, the pick-up arms lift the product from the product rack and deliver the product to the trough.
-
When moving tubular product from the Hawker Pipe Handler to the rack, the flippers in the trough deliver the tubular product to the pick-up arms which lower the tubular product to the rack.
-
Deck pins must be installed on the opposite side of the pick-up arms being used.
Remote Control
-
The remote control allows the operator to control the Hawker Pipe Handler from a safe distance or alternate area.
-
The remote comes with a 65 foot cord that plugs into the transmitter located on the Hawker Pipe Handler.
-
The remote can be operated wireless (if equipped with appropriate optional equipment).
